Friendships in Business and Work

To borrow the words of William Shakespeare, “A friend knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”

Significantly, friendships are relationships that put us at ease for we are known, understood, accepted, and supported to be better versions of ourselves.

Friendship comes in significant times of our lives. It is not only through our successes that friends do stay but rather even in our struggles. True friendships are best measured not by the longest times shared but by the moments and memories created and re-lived. These friends are those you find inspiring you from childhood and, maybe, getting old. Most friendships are found in the business or even in the workplace.

Friendships in the Workplace

The workplace is the most engaging environment where we use our energy and the most time during our waking hours. To be opinionated about things and to experience new things in the workplace spices up our lives. Imagine if you didn’t have anyone to talk to during lunch or share that tea time with a friend. Life would be boring without friends. Friendships allow you to let the time and days go by quicker and support you during low and high moments.

Friends whom we turn to are the ones we value the most. We invest in understanding each other, even picking up mood changes and behaviors better than our family. Sometimes, we talk and share more with our friends because we fear creating arguments within the family. Sometimes, friends are the non-judgmental breathers we needed in our lives.

Friendships in the business

In business, having friendships evolves into inspiration and motivation. Having a good friend whom you can relate to about business matters and other impending matters bothering your mind would help a lot to keep your sanity intact.

Sometimes, businesses can be lonely especially when you’re doing it online you are stuck at home in a relative world of working from home. Having a buddy system whom you can share that joke with or even go out for lunch can help you lighten and brighten your mood for that day.

Having a friend in the business can help you focus and solve problems and uncertainties. In making big decisions, it is better to consult with friends than to have it all bottled up. They can often give you various opinions essential in your decision-making.

“One of the things you can give and will not cost you any money is friendship.” - Catherine Pulsifer

Indeed, friendships are riches beyond material wealth and monetary value. These are relationships that complete us and make our lives whole. Now, it’s time to call a friend. Reach out and find that treasure beyond worldly matters. A friend helps but a TRUE FRIEND will help you find your TRUE WORTH.
