Setting-Up an Instagram Business Profile

In setting up an Instagram Business Profile, you have to switch between a contact button, an analytics tool called insights, and a promote button making your posts directed as ads.

Steps in Setting Up a Business Profile Account

1. An active Facebook Page (not your persona page) shall be linked to your Instagram account. In turn, when you switch Instagram on, it will ask you to provide your Facebook account.

2. Twitching account to Business Profile.

Tap on the settings icon and then, scroll and select Business Profile.

3. Connect to your Facebook Page.

Link to the page connected to your Instagram account. Follow the instructions and give the necessary permissions.

4. Add your contact details.

Type in information about your email details, phone number, or location so that followers can reach you directly.

After this, you’re done. But you might be asking why switch to a business profile? Here are the reasons why.

Differences between a Personal Profile and Business Profile on Instagram

1. Unlike a personal profile, the business profile cannot be set to “private.” Making your account private in the settings section means only your followers can see your stories, posts, and comments. Moreso, new followers must “request” to follow your account – which you can accept or deny when using a personal account.

2. Personal profiles don’t allow you to grow your brand awareness. Your “discoverability” is an essential part of using social media to grow your business for your business accounts.

3. Personal profiles allow you to link multiple Facebook pages and profiles. On the other hand, Business profiles only allow one. This is to keep personal posts and business posts separate, so if you want to share a post from Instagram to Facebook, it has to be a business profile to a business page.

Who uses personal and business profiles?

If you intend to make known your brand using Instagram, you need a business profile.

These accounts are mainly used by influencers, professional photographers, bloggers, e-commerce brands, consultants/coaches, service businesses, authors, and other famous persons.

But if you want to just share for fun your fashion tips, photos, or makeup tutorials then go ahead with a personal profile.

Business Profiles are used for analytical tools and reporting capabilities. Sometimes you might wonder, “What do I need the analytics for?”

Don’t worry, for an Instagram business profile, they show you all kinds of data about your followers. Other than the analytical data part, all else is pretty much the same.
