The Instagram Stories Story

Instagram added up Stories in 2016 and continues to improve its use in its platforms. Known as narratives or moments of Instagram, these babies evolved. Moreover, this content was introduced via Snapchat where Instagram-able photos and videos were shared. Now, it is evident that more people are using this platform because more than 400 million users view Instagram Stories within twenty-four (24) hours. Even Facebook has these instagrammable stories to share too.


Instagram Stories: Viewing a Story

To view a story, it’s as easy as a few clicks here and there. They appear on the topmost interface of Instagram. Just be ready to click the profile or the photo.

A single tap on the screen to the right makes for a fast forward. A tap to the left makes for a rewind of some sort. Long-pressing the screen allows you to pause and read long stories.


Instagram Stories: Creating Them

How to create stories? Well. just upload a photo or video. To take a memory or a past photo and video for a story just go to the Stories mode and click the most left button to open the gallery where your stories are archived. Just feel free to use your camera or even any camera App installed on your phone.

Instagram also allows you to edit your Stories directly through the Instagram App. One of the favorite Story formats of a photo is a Boomerang which is a compiled series of photos looped together to make a Story.


Instagram Stories: Reposting

You can get posts from an Instagram profile and share them on your profile. How? Click the airplane icon under the posting and proceed to Edit the Story. If you are tagged in an Instagram Story, you can be directed to a window that will allow you to Edit the Story also.


Instagram Stories: How to edit?

You can edit both photos and videos through Instagram. Here are guides to Instagrammable photo editing:

  1. To view and apply filters, swipe left and choose which filter interests you.

  2. Do the hashtags. A hashtag is for navigating, searching for information, and promoting products or services. There are 2 ways of adding a hashtag - first, by manually inputting text words and second, by navigating the frequently used hashtags at the bottom of the top stories.

  3. Geotagging places. This enters a specific location for your Story which is essential for research and mapping. Just click on the Location sticker.

  4. Tagging a friend. To tag a person on Instagram is to select the text tool and enter the user’s name starting with the @ symbol or by clicking and choosing “Mention”. You can mention up to ten (10) persons in a single Story. Either way, Instagram will choose a profile that would match the characters entered.


Instagram Stories: Publishing a Story

When a story is edited and finished, click on the “Your Story” button in the lower left corner and it will be shown on your profile and seen by your followers. Stories can be shown within 24 hours. While shown, it can be edited or deleted. Stories can also be shared with your favorite contacts by clicking on Publish and selecting the desired profiles.
